Update: Rehoming The Royals
Update Saturday afternoon: Mom Rhonda says, “We are home and Emily is safely ensconced in my bedroom. She is exploring and I have her eater, food and a litterbox in there.” We’re so happy that Emily is in her new Forever Home with Rhonda!
Update Saturday morning: Today, Mom Rhonda flies to Utah with Emily. And also today, the transport caravan that will eventually pick up Brutus and Marigold in New Jersey leaves Florida and heads north. Lots of great cats, heading towards new Forever Homes! We wish them all safe travels!
Update Friday afternoon: Mom Rhonda has freed The Royals from the shelter. She has passed Brutus and Marigold over to their temporary foster home, awaiting their transport to Mom Laura on Sunday, and she has Emily in her hotel room with her. Looks like Emily has settled in already, this is a picture of her in Rhonda’s bag! Rhonda and Emily head back to Salt Lake City tomorrow morning, and we wish them safe travels.
Friday morning: The Royals have been sprung from the shelter! Thanks to everyone who donated, to pay for their boarding and vet bills, so that when Mom Rhonda got there today, she could get them all out.
Mom Rhonda has them and is heading to her hotel. We will be updating this post as we learn more news.
For those of you not familiar with The Royals, they are the three cats left behind when longtime cat blogger QM Rose passed away. They were rescued from Animal Control and put into a boarding shelter. Cat bloggers raised money to pay for their boarding, their vet bills, and their health certificates so they could travel. Now, they are on their way to being re-homed. Emily will go all the way from New Jersey to Utah to be with Mom Rhonda, and Brutus & Marigold will go live with Mom Laura in Massachusetts. We wish the very best to these beloved cats, and their new Forever Families.
Good Noos! The Royals must feel at least a little better out of the shelter.
All this is absolutely magnificent! I can’t tell you all how happy Grace and I are about every single phase of this whole process, even when we were worried and especially when we had great joy. I know it’s not all over yet, but once Brutus and Marigold are home with Mom Laura, we can all relax.
