UPDATED: Please Help Emily, Brutus & Marigold
We recently posted about the passing of beloved longtime cat blogger, QM Rose. She leaves behind her furry family of Emily, Brutus, and Marigold. These are the three cats pictured in the graphic above.
ML has saved the three of them from animal control, and now they are in a boarding facility in Newark, New Jersey. Emily has a potential new adoptive family, we just need to raise money to get her to her new home. But Brutus and Marigold, who are littermate siblings, need a home together. None of the three are doing well in the boarding facility, and help is needed urgently.
You can read more details on ML’s blog, where you can also see ML’s email address, which is the address for her PayPal account. Funds are needed urgently and immediately to help out with boarding costs, potential vet and transportation costs for Emily, and for Rose’s final expenses.
Also a foster home is needed in the Newark, New Jersey area for Brutus and Marigold to get them out of the boarding shelter, and help is needed to potentially fly Emily from Newark, New Jersey to Salt Lake City, Utah – ideally, we’d like a volunteer to fly with Emily to make this trip, so she does not have to fly in cargo. If you can help with any of these, please let us know via a comment.
We will keep this important story updated as we have more details, but right now what is most urgently needed is donations to ML (via the PayPal address on her blog post) to cover expenses for Emily, Brutus, and Marigold.
UPDATE Wednesday Night: Brutus & Marigold may have a new home!
Mom Laura, who many will remember as the Mom of Lilly Lu and Maxie from Lilly Lu & Iris Tell All has posted on facebook that she is willing to adopt Brutus & Marigold, if transportation can be arranged. Since Lilly Lu went to the Rainbow Bridge last fall, we think this would be a purrfect fit for all involved. We just need to arrange and finance transportation. Again, the best way to help right now is by making a donation to ML (via the PayPal address on her blog post)

With ML and the blogging community working on this, we know it will be successful. Rose is fortunate Such a great group to know.
There are other means of transport, too. There is something called Operation Roger, in which truckers volunteer to transport pets across the continent. I imagine it takes some arranging, but it may work in this case and in future. It’s something to keep in mind.
