LEO UPDATE 9/4: Leo is Doing ok.they took the tube out of his urethra but he is not peeing on is own yet so if he does not pee tonightthey have to replace the tube. Thank you for all your help. Jessica

Hi, my name is Jessica and I am in need of some help. My Kittie Leo had to be rushed to the hospital last night because he couldn’t pee. He had a life threating blockage and had to be unblocked right away. The cost was $1200. We managed to come up with that money. When we got home, the vet called and stated she could not unblock him, he needed additional surgery and the cost would be $3500 more. We broke down, there is no way that we could afford it. The vet stated that he needed this surgery or we could put him to sleep. He is only a year old. We put a deposit of an additional $1400 on a credit card. Two hours later the vet calls and states he is unblocked. THANK GOD! But Leo may have a tear in his urethra and more surgery may be needed. I am a a wreck trying to figure out how I will afford this and hoping that my little man will not need more surgery. If there is anyway that you can assist me please let me know. Leo is a Bengal kittie. I fell in love with him the first time I met him, he is my best buddy. Thank you, Jessica Goodrich

This week, among the many strays rescued by Jody, was one that really touched my heart. A Mama Cat and her three kittens were locked in a vacant house with no way to get in. The Mama Cat remembered Jody from when she had been spayed two weeks earlier. Mama Cat knew she could trust Jody, and brought her kittens out to her, one by one (she knew a way out).

What is so sad is that the Mama Cat, named Hope, is terribly injured, her eyeball was hanging out of the socket. I figured she was in a fight defending her young kittens. She has had surgery to fix it and is on the mend, but she has horrendous vet bills. When KC posted this earlier, and people began to send donations to help via my PayPal link on Jody’s Cat Blogosphere page. Thank you so much for your generous donations.

Can you believe it? It’s time to gather photos and get the 2008 Cat Blogosphere calendar together! WOW! Dis year has gone by fasssssssssst! This year’s calendar is gonna be efun better.

If you’s a blogging cat (with any type of blog, Blogger, WordPress, Live Journal, or whereever, even a Catster or MyCatSpace blog that you blog in regularly!) you can submit your photo!!! (We’ll get at least one pic of each blogging cat in if we can and if they’re not gross or something like that.) We also accept some special furriends of feline photos on a case by case basis. (Did yoo notice the two buns and the one woofie in last yeer’s calendar???) Each blogging cat (or special furriend) can submit one or two photos. Photos can be of individual blogging cats (or special furriends) or of fambly groups. More than that will probably make our deziner (Mom Robyn) pull out all her hair and run screamin thru the streets. hehehe

Deadline for submitting photos is September 21, 2007.  Mom Robyn hasta haf time to design the calendar and there’s 13 pages to it total, including the cover. And with over 100 blogging cats, that takes some time!

We’ll remind you again, but it’s way best if you can submit your photos early, k?  And we’ll reply to each n every submission to tell you we gotted your photo so there’s no surprises!

• The purple one is called The BV, for our pals Bonnie and Victor.
• The light sage one is called The Nezbine, in memory of friend who left us.  It reminds us of her beautiful eyes. 
• The sage with colours is called The Mommakitty, because it looks like the wild-flower covered green fields of Petaluma in Spring.
• The fall colours is called The KC, because it reminds us of that tough*ss tortie.

The Always Amazin’ Zeus is STILL blogging in Blogothon 2007 to raise green papers for the Humane Society of the US. If you’re still up, pop by and give him a meow.

He’s won a Blogathon contest and extra green papers for his charity by drawing a picture of himself! Now THAT is impurressive cuz it’s very hard to do with no opposable thumbs.

Go see his self-portrait, his funny posts, and leave him a meow of support (or if ya want, a pledge for his cause, you can still do that.)

At the last couple of parties, several kitties have asked me what a binkie is.  A Binkie is a bunny rabbit jump of joy.  We do it when we are really happy.  I’ve found an instructional video on the bunny 500 and binkies to share – click here.  The Binkie is about half-way through the video when the bun leaps and twists in the air.

Also – huge huge HUGE thanks to everyone who helped me with my AIDS Hop goal.  Together we raised 1,200.00!  Binkie by the blog to see photos from the AIDS Hop.
