There is an update on Orange Boy… he had 22 teeth pulled!!!

SASS… that’s Sammy, Andy, Shelly and Sierra… could use some financial help. Traci-Bug has been trying to catch-up. Her new job is going great, she already got a promotion, but she was out of work for a while before. Auntie Judi-Bug’s monthly check now goes to hospice. Traci just paid all the funeral arrangements and is worried about being able to pay this month’s rent. If everyone could chip in a few dollars, it would be so appreciated.

Traci is also trying to find a place to take Momma Cat and Kittens that is no kill, they can no longer afford to feed them. If anyone in the area has suggestions or would like to adopt this beautiful family, please let us know. Deb found The Animal Defense League, which seems to be really good.

We came up with a wonderful idea to celebrate Truffle’s 1st birthday on June 2, 2012. Since we are from the South and Truffle is entering adulthood, we’ve decided to have a Debutante Ball in her honor. We’ll try to get the details together over the weekend to let everyone know what we’re going to do. In the meantime, start getting your tuxedos, formals, crowns, etc. ready for the Debutante Ball of the Century (or at least of 2012). MOL! ~Mom Paula, Truffle and Brulee

Like most ducks and others I didn’t know a lot of about pet bunnies. Then I met my buddy BunnyJeanCook and her mom. I had NO idea that people buy a lot of pet bunnies for Easter… and then turn them in to shelters. That’s so sad. Bunnies are people too. Rabbits can be great pets, but people need to learn about them before they run off and get one for a pet. It’s not that they’re more difficult per se than cats or dogs. They just have different needs. Nobody should get a pet they’re not prepared to keep and care for. If you would like to adopt a rabbit, learn something about having bunnies here. Then at Petfinder you can see the adoptable rabbits available from all over. On the left hand side there at Petfinder you can do a search just for adoptable bunnies from your area, too! Find a bunny to love and care for and they will make you smile. ~George the Duck

The manufacturer, Diamond Foods, has their own page about it here, but several high-end pet food companies (Natural Balance, Canidae, Wellness) have notified their distributors and confirmed with people that there are indeed additional recalls over the weekend, so it isn’t included in the master list that most people and news outlets will consult. Canadian and US Pet Food Recall Expanded to 39 States: List Of Recalled Products. ~Nikita & Elvira

In case people aren’t aware, there is a pet food recall going on. The manufacturer, Diamond Foods, has their own page about it here, but several high-end pet food companies (Natural Balance, Canidae, Wellness) have notified their distributors and confirmed with people that there are indeed additional recalls over the weekend, so it isn’t included in the master list that most people and news outlets will consult. Just as in 2007, stores aren’t getting the word promptly and pulling their stock, so please share this information with your non-blogging friends who have dogs and cats and might have bought this food as recently as this weekend. ~The crew at Sometimes, Cats Herd You
