Dona Nobis Pacem Peace Globe

KC told her the cats were ready! And Mimi answered: I’m sending two separate emails to you right now. One is a letter to NEW PARTICIPANTS. The second is a letter to RETURNING PARTICIPANTS asking for their help promoting. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to get the ball rolling again…..so to speak. xxooo, Mimi

: LETTER TO NEW PARTICIPANTS:

This is Mimi Lenox from Mimi Writes.

I recently posted an article on my blog, Mimi Writes entitled Sunday Blog Chatter: Peace Globes 2007.  It explains the beginning of a  blog movement that has snowballed into a lovely (and loud) statement for world peace.  Since then, I’ve written several articles about it and the project is being blogged about from many different parts of the world. It became an international blog event which debuted November 7, 2006, changing my view of the world forever and uniting people from all walks of life, political factions, religions and viewpoints.

We will storm Blogland again with Peace Globes and identical post titles on June 6, 2007. The goal is to get as many blog owners as possible blogging about world peace ON THE SAME DAY and displaying their signed globes from all parts of the world  SAYING THE SAME THING IN THE TITLE - Dona Nobis Pacem - translated from Latin to English "Grant Us Peace."  It’s quite simple and amazingly effective.

Sixteen countries participated in the first BlogBlast and 25 states in the United States. It is my goal to have at least one blogger from each country post a peace globe on June 6th. That would be incredible.

If you would like to post a globe on your site to represent your country or your blog, please email me at mimiwrites2005 at yahoo.com or simply follow the instructions in this post. And here….. How To Get Your Peace Globe.  Anyone can sign a Peace Globe as long as they submit a globe with a positive message or simply a signature.

There are no political affiliations associated with this project at all.  It started from one blog with the idea that words are powerful.  "Dona Nobis Pacem" - which is Latin for Grant Us Peace-  floating around the blogosphere has to be a good thing.

In addition….

I’ve created an Official Peace Globes site to house all the Peace Globe events and announcements as well as links to your sites.

Dona Nobis Pacem - The Peace Globe Posts is a separate blog that houses links to the stories written on that day as well as the mini-blast we had Christmas Eve, 2006.

We are asking bloggers everywhere - new bloggers, old bloggers, cat bloggers, gerbils bloggers, frog bloggers and even people bloggers to place a link on their site. JUST COPY THE CODES I’VE PLACED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS EMAIL AND PLACE THEM IN YOUR TEMPLATE. One is a nifty banner that clicks straight through to all the information you need and the other is a sidebar sign.

Everytime you click on a blog June 6, 2007 you should see beautiful globes and peace vibes hit the blogosphere.  I hope you will join us for this special event.  We’d love to see your blog’s flag flying on a Peace Globe this year. Many thanks to all who are participating and promoting this sentiment.

Blogging is a beautiful thing.

Grant us peace,

Mimi Lenox (aka Mimi Pencil Skirt and Mimi Queen of Memes…..don’t ask)

 LETTER TO RETURNING PARTICIPANTS:

Hello Peace Bloggers!

It’s time to prepare to storm Blogland again with those beautiful spinning globes. I’m starting early this year in an effort to draw in more participants and branch out to international blogs as well as specialty sites. You participated in the very first BlogBlast for Peace November 7, 2006 along with bloggers from sixteen countries and 25 states within the United States. The success of peace globes depends on blog-to-blog communication and grassroots effort in the blogosphere. Even without solicitation from me, many of you have permanently placed your globes in the sidebar of your sites. That is truly appreciated. I still get letters from people who see them and want to participate. I even get letters from cats!  I’m just waiting for goldfish and dogs and gerbils. By the way….anyone seen the Peace Cat Bloggers lately? Did you know they have a Blogosphere all their own? It’s amazing!

It is my goal to have at least one blogger from each country post a peace globe by the end of the second BlogBlast which will be held November 7th. That would be incredible. Right now, it’s important to make our presence known for the first showing - June 6th, 2007.

If you are willing to help get the word out, please consider placing one of the following banners on your site. They will click directly through to all the information anyone needs to get a globe and participate. Codes are at the bottom of this email if you decide you want one.

The following link explains everything you need to know about the project. There are links within the post as well.  http://mimiwrites.blogspot.com/2007/03/sunday-blog-chatter-peace-globes-2007.html.

Thank you so much for your continued support of Dona Nobis Pacem in the Blogosphere. You were the very first bloggers to catch Peace Globe fever.  It was a magical time. Let’s make it happen again. Grant us Peace, Mimi
