Emergency purrs needed for Audrey & Mom Kat. Audrey had to go to the vet today with a high fever. She had blood work and will need to be seen again on Monday.

Scooby is going to the v-e-t on Monday for diabetes testing and we’d like to ask for the power of the cat blogosphere purrs to go with us. He also has a lump on his left hip that has grown quite large and needs to be re-checked. As usual, mom is worried.   She probably needs the purrs more than Scooby does! ~Scooby, Shaggy & Scout

Please help prevent killing of strays/ferals in southern NJ!
Laurie, a friend of The Happy Cat Family, has been working to help find new homes for about 50 stray and feral cats in southern NJ living near a wildlife preserve. If anyone wants details, please Contact Happy Cat Family and she will put you in contact with Laurie. Apart from homes for the kitties, the project needs some financial support – anything will help!
Save the Animals Foundation, Inc. and the Animal Protection League of New Jersey — working closely with other cat rescue and wildlife groups—are relocating a colony of feral cats from their current South Jersey location to nearby farms, horse stables, wineries, and the like. (Both STAF and APLNJ support TNR as the most effective means to reduce the feral cat population, and use relocation only in very rare circumstances.)
These cats are currently being cared for by a community of fisherman and their families, but their proximity to a wildlife preserve requires that we move the cats onto private property. And as soon as possible! The preserve is home to several species of birds threatened or endangered in New Jersey, and the breeding/nesting season starts right about now! Any cats not relocated in time (the exact deadline remains unknown, but the pressure is on!) will be trapped and put down. A donation page was put up here!
If you know of anyone in NJ, DE, MD, or eastern PA that might be able to provide a home for some of them (we want to move them in minimums of two), again, please contact Happy Cat Family. Thank you!

We are thinking of each of you that resides in the states severely impacted by storm and tornadoes earlier this week…
and we just wanted to say that we hope you and your families, and all the furry-friends are all OK and were not impacted
by these storms in any way. You’re in our thoughts and prayers.
In particular, we are worried about, in Kentucky: Us 4 Gatos, Casbah Kitties, Purrs & Snorts; in Georgia: Gandalf & Grayson and Tybalt; and Cats, Goats & Quotes (not sure of the state). Please let us hear from you, comment or send us/CB an email, so we won’t worry. ~The Zoolatry Girls

Update: We just heard from Melody and Melody’s Katz. She says the damage from the storms and tornadoes is really bad in her part of Alabama. They could really use all of our purrs and prayers. ~Meowmeowmans (from today’s comments)
