And today really is Merci’s birthday and also Mom Loa!!!

This article might be of interest as it sheds light on the current demise of Cairo’s cats, particularly the world’s oldest domestic cat, the mau. A band of animal welfare activists called The Egyptian Mau Rescue Organization are fighting back against the terrible treatment and abuse of these majestic animals.  They are trying to revive the dying breed, and are doing their best to take the mau in and find them new loving homes. I hope they succeed in their mission, it is nice to see people take a stand and help out against animal cruelty and neglect. I hope Figaro has a purrrfect birthday today! Best, Jess

Purrs and Purrayers for Obi’s family… Obi went to the Bridge Monday. He was only four years old.

Maggie May would like to introduce everyone to her new friend, Punapippuri! He is a rescue cat in Finland who also has a luxating patella!! He is going in for surgery tomorrow to repair his knee and we hope everyone will stop by and give him lots of purrs and well wishes.  ~Purrs~ Maggie May
