THANK A PROSECUTOR FOR TAKING THE LIVES OF CATS SERIOUSLY

On June 23, 2008, the operator of Critter Control of Richmond—a so-called pest control company—killed three feral cats behind a television station near Richmond. On July 7, 2008, that person, Keith Copi, was arrested and the Commonwealth’s Attorney charged him with three counts of violating Virginia’s anti-cruelty law. If convicted, Mr. Copi could face up to 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine for each count.

The Logan County Humane Society impounded Cheyenne, Leigh’s black labrador retriever based on a report from a neighbor. We did not realize that the Humane Society has power to forcibly remove a pet from it’s home, especially based on hearsay evidence. KC and I emailed the main offices of the HS ( membership AT hsus DOT org ) to question this policy. Apparently a few others have emailed as well, as Cheyenne was just released by the LCHS. KC and I are encouraging all members of the Cat Blogosphere to please leave The Logan County Humane Society a message about their impounding policy, which is obviously a nationwide practice of the Humane Society. i knows this is about a woofie, Jackson, but i’s so excited. Theys finded a big mass in his chest. His fambly was so worried cause it didn’t look good. But tha cat scan showed it is operable. Yay! … Purrs, KC

My name is Mr. Milky, and I want to thank all my wonderful new friends who are helping the Artsy Catsy humans with my vet bills.  I’ve been feeling much worse since this morning with a hot fever and now I can’t even walk on my hurty front paws.  But I’m getting ready to leave for the vet now…so please purr for me to get good news that I can be helped.
