Heartbreaking News

Some people come into our lives
- and quickly go.
Some people move our souls to dance.
They awaken us
- to new understanding
with the passing whisper of their wisdom
Some people make
- the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for awhile,
- leave footprints on our hearts
And we are never, ever the same.

Dear Fellow Weekend Cat Bloggers, It is with a very, very heavy heart that I have some sad news to pass on to everyone. Sher the wonderful mind behind What Did You Eat and Laura’s lovely mom as well a mom to squirrels and friends to us all passed away very suddenly today. She had a heart attack this morning and could not be revived.
Sher was a friend to Weekend Cat Blogging and a frequent host. She will be missed by not only this community but by those of us in the food blogging community where Sher had many friends. I am proud to have known her as a fellow Daring Baker, Bread Baking Babe, and WCB. As I get more news, especially about Laura and the squirrels, I will pass it on.

Othello, Kashim and their mum, Astrid, will be hosting a special Weekend Cat Blogging this weekend to celebrate Sher. Also, if you love to cook - the food bloggers will be asking people to select one of Sher’s recipes, prepare it and then post on July 27th in her memory. ~DKM

Oh my god!!
I just don’t know what to say! Sher was such a lovely woman and dear friend ever since I began blogging for the boys and even on my foodblog!
I can’t believe she is gone!
Now I am heartbroken and do not know what else to say ;(

I am in shock at this news. I just went to her blog last night expecting to see Laura for WCB and was surprised not to see one up. What Did You Eat? was one of the first blogs I read for wonderful food stories and recipes and I loved seeing Upsie and the squirrels.
This is just heart breaking - my prayers are with Sher and her family.

I am so sad to hear this heartbreaking news … I know how much of a terrible experience it is to lose someone this way. Sher’s family and friends will be in my thoughts and prayers.

This is such sad and shocking news!
Sher was one of the first friends we made in cat blogging, and her site was always one of the first we would go to on WCB to find out about Sher and Upsie and then Laura.
We will miss her very much, and our thoughts are with her family and friends.

I am so very sad to read of Sher’s passing, she was a very kind person and friend to cats. I will miss her and her foodie exploits a great deal. Condolences and much love to her family and little Laura.

So sad! A bright light has gone from the blogosphere. Her food always looked wonderful and Laura was a lucky kitty. Our condolences to her family and friends.

Our hearts are truly broken. Sher you will be missed. You made us laugh and smile and feel alive with your passion and love. The tears we shed and the pain we feel, it doesn’t compare to the light you brought to this world.
