Fiona Bun says hop outside and enjoy our earth today!

Grass is good

Some things your humans can do to help the earth:

1. Recycle! Every minute, 37,000 empty soft drink bottles are thrown away in the United States.
2. Go Online!Rather than writing checks and stuffing envelopes each month, switch to tree-free billing and pay everything from your credit card to your cell phone bills online. Approximately one billion trees worth of paper are thrown away every year in the U.S.
3. Go Veg! Eat one vegetarian meal a week. Growing all the crops to feed farmed animals requires massive amounts of water and land—in fact, nearly half of the water and 80 percent of the agricultural land in the United States are used to raise animals for food.
4. Eat Local! Join a community supported agriculture (CSA) program at www.localharvest.org or www.biodynamics.com (which also lists CSAs in Canada). By becoming a shareholder of a community supported organic farm or garden, you can back pesticide-free agriculture and fund businesses in your area. In return, you and your family will enjoy weekly baskets of whatever your grower provides—fresh produce, fruit, flowers, or herbs. Plus, eating local, seasonal foods preserves indigenous crops and agricultural methods beneficial to a large variety of species.
5. Green your home!  Use napkin rings and cloth napkins, avoid pesticides, use nontoxic alternatives, don’t wash dishes with the water running and plant a tree.  For more visit here.

Most important - take action!
