Pleeze let them know that animul snuff films are NOT free speech

In today’s San Fransisko Kronikul, thare was an artikul abowt an art exibit that the San Fransisko Art Institoot has reeluktantly bin forst to cloze becuz of threts frum animul rites activists (as if the aniumul rites activists were the wuns in the rong). The exibit in qweschun was a horrifik "shock art" video of animuls being blujunned to deth. If yoo have a minit, pleeze leeve a comment on the artikul and let the werld know that the peepul hoo run the SFAI are idiuts and shood be drawn and qwarterd and have thare guts fed to the seegulls for even considering showing this exibit. Also, if yer so inklined, pleeze rite to the SFAI prezident, Chris Bratton, hoo sez that showing videos like animul snuff films is part of SFAI’s kommitmint to free speech.

How sad that people do such horrible things to pets. As a provider of ceremonial pet urns and dog and cat urns, I can not fathom people treating another living creature this way and to film it and call it art, is beyond my comprehension. Mary — http://www.angelashes.com

Would an exhibit of films showing humans being bludgeoned to death be okay under the freedom of speech act? No? So why are they showing animals? By saying any death of any species is okay, you are also saying the death of all species is okay.

It is inconceivable that such “art exhibits” are even considered. This is as bad as the one where the dog is chained to a wall and idiots watched it starve to death. Such disregard for life - any life - is disgusting and should never be condoned or encouraged.

Jus the thought of a video like that makes me sick. Showing the video may be an expression of freedom of speech, but the creation of the video itself is criminal.

We hesitate to wade into this subject. We haven’t been able to see the offending videos or even find a discussion from the video producer.
But from what we HAF been able to discover, it seems to us that the artist was only recording events that occur routinely.
Should one shoot the messsenger? Should one blame the people who show the cruel ways that the other animals that are our food are killed? We think not.
We applaud the person who showed us how our food is too often killed painfully. We applaud the SFAI for showing the world how it is too often done.
We eat meat. Every day. And we know it comes from other animals being killed so that we can eat them. We kill some animals ourselfs!!! And eat them.
Iffen the animals were killed just to be filmed, that was wrong! But we don’t think that’s what happened.
We don’t know exactly how the meat in our canned food gets there, but we figure it is “killed animals”. An we ain’t gonna become vegetarians. So animals gotta be killed by predators, kitty or hooman.
We say it outta be a lot kinder, but we are gonna eat meat whether we kill it or some Beins do…
So start killin them “gentler”, Beins. But we aren’t gonna get hissy at no Bein who jus shows how it is happenin now. Or Beins that show it happenin… “Reportin” on cruelty ain’t wrong.
