Announcement from the CB Beans: Sadly, we are no longer able to continue to do fundraising here at the Blogosphere for a number of reasons. It has become such a huge proposition in times of time, energy, as well as personal funds to cover PayPal fees, other fees, and postage, that we can no longer take care of fund raising for the 100+ cat bloggers. Between Mom ML and Mom Robyn, these costs have run into many dollars and time just for fundraising efforts has become a matter of 40+ hours a week, and this is just too much. Also, it’s come to our attention that a number of people are feeling cheated because one or another blogger may have had more money donated to their cause than others, and some expect the "Cat Blogosphere" to do all the fundraising for them as a matter of course, when there are so many who’ve never gotten any help at all, and that’s extraordinarily painful to us personally. So, effective immediately, all new Cat Blogosphere fundraising sponsored by the Cat Blogosphere or hosted on the Cat Blogosphere and/or using the PayPal accounts of Mom Robyn and Mom ML is ending, and the Cat Blogosphere cafepress shop will be closing by the end of the month. Currently running fundraisers using either of our PayPal accounts, with end dates will continue to run until their end dates. Ongoing efforts with no end dates, will sadly have to end immediately. The Cat Blogosphere will no longer be sponsoring or hosting fundraisers, once current ones run out. All remaining funds held and received from current fundraisers for Cat Blogosphere fundraising will be sent on to thier destinations. We’re glad we’ve had a chance to help, and are sad that we can’t continue to. All of us at the Cat Blogosphere blog will continue to be supportive and very happy to post news of cat bloggers fundraising efforts for friends, though. We had always envisioned a Cat Friends Helping Friends site, group, and possibly 501(3)(c) charity, but have not had the resources to do it. We do have a domain name for it and it could be hosted on the Cat Blogosphere hosting if someone wants to take on the responsibility and has the resources to do it. We’d love to see it come to life. If you’d like to get it going, just let us know, we hope someone will take up the cause. Oh good noos: We’ve had a volunteer who has already sent an outline of a plan for getting Cat Friends going. Hopefully dat will werk out! We’ll keep yoo posted! Purrrrrrrs, Sanjee

Oh we are so sad to read this.
Mom Robyn and Mon ML you haf been angels for doing this for so long.
we are thinking… is there anything we can do to help?
March 19th, 2008 at 1:21 am
You have all done a wonderful job! Is there anyway you can keep your Cafe Press store open by announcing that a portion of your funds will go to charitable causes (of your choice) and the rest of the profit to you for your time, etc. Maybe you could choose a large organization like the National SPCA, Best Friends, to benefit from the portion of the profits. I think most cat bloggers would trust you to follow through. We would really miss the CB Calendars if they didn’t continue!
March 19th, 2008 at 1:26 am
I too appreciate all that you’ve done. I remember teasing Mom Robyn about the tutorials she posted a few weeks back. One was on how to put a paypal donation button on a blog. Maybe this announcement post would be a good place to add a link to that how to page? After all, the blogosphere isn’t ending, you two are just stepping down as “Mom” (and so maybe Mom Robyn needs a new handle).

Mom Robyn and Mom ML, you have both been so wonderful! Thanks for everything you have done. All of us appreciate the work and effort. Purrs.

You have both done so much - we are amazed that you haven’t given up earlier!!! And just keeping the cat blogosphere blog going is so much in itself!!!!
And as probably a lot of others, yes, we would love to see a site like the one you are talking about - or a continuous fund raising effort or a different world…..
Thank you so much for everything you have done.
And thank you so much for everything you ares till doing! Because let’s face it - without THIS site here - the cat blogosphere wouldn’t really be, right?
THANK YOU!

Kinda corny. But still, don’t feel bad that you gotta do what you gotta do. Somewhere there’s an open window to continue your efforts to help animals, cats…
Bless you all.

Mom Robyn and Mom ML, thank you for all you have done and continue to do for the Catblogosphere. I totally understand about the fundraising problems.

Mom Robyn and Mom ML, thank you for all that you have done. We can only imagine what a huge undertaking all the fundraising must have been. Thank you so much for everything.
We agree with Kimo & Sabi on the CafePress store. Hopefully it can stay open and the funds can go towards keeping the Cat Blogosphere running, and perhaps donating to an international charity.

Miss Peach and I have always been in awe of your efferts with the fundraising. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you have done to help kitties in need. Everyone should learn how to put their OWN Paypal button on their site like you told a while back. Both for things they might sell, and those who need help and can be blessed by someones auctions and have the funds right to their own account. This eliminates the middle ‘MOMS’ who have shouldered the burden till now. Again we thank yoy purrrsonaly for letting us be a part of the fundraisers in the past. We have enjoyed helping and will still do so if needed on a more direct basis.
God Bless you all and relax, hug kitties and make beautiful things happen.

Thank you ML and Mom Robyn for everything you have done, But somehow I feel I am partly to blame.
If I didnt come here asking for help for Churchill non of this would have happened.
I am truely sorry if I have caused any wrong doing. It really seems though since I have asked for help, loads more people have asked for help as well.
I know I am not blaming anyone or pointing any fingers because thats not my nature, but , if i havent come seeking help maybe non of this wouldnt have happened.
March 19th, 2008 at 5:15 am
Rhiannon,
please don’t feel bad for asking for help! I am sure you are not to blame for anything that happened just ’cause you were asking for help.
Since I know the Cat Blogosphere there have always been Cat Friend who were in need in the past and the Ctablogosphere ktiies and beans always tried to help as best as the could.
Sadly at the moment there seems to be quite many of our friends suffering and needing help.
And sadly we understand that we can’t help everyone as good as we would love to do ’cause in many homes green papers are very tight these days…
(when I say we I mean all the blogging kitties and beans as they have become a part of my family over the past year and I truly feel loved and welcomed anytime)
The Cat Blogosphere has the most powerful positive power I ever experienced and I am sure we all will find way to keep up helping ea ch other without loading so much work and responsibilty on Mom Robyns and Mom Mls shoulders.
I feel a bit bad too that we maybe (not blaming anyone, don’t get me wrong) took their help a bit too granted and didn’t think that it might be too much for them.
Um, what was I gonna say? Well, just my weird 5 cents… *snicker*
March 19th, 2008 at 5:16 am
Thanks for all the time and effort you have put in for fundraising projects. I think maybe we (or at least I) do not show our gratitude often enough for all of your hard work. I completely understand and support your decision, which I am sure was very difficult to make.
March 19th, 2008 at 6:30 am
We appreciate all your efforts and know you did not come to this decision easily. Whenever you have a passion for something it is hard to let it go.
March 19th, 2008 at 6:50 am
We appreciate all you have done for the fund raising and the Cat Blogosphere, Mom ML and Mom Robyn. We understand and support you and thank you very much for all that you have done.
March 19th, 2008 at 7:17 am
thank you for all the time put into the fund raising. I wish I could help but would not know how to start. Also can the store be reopened. I never got the 2008 calender and with expenses wont be able to buy it till about may and wanted to get one?
March 19th, 2008 at 7:26 am
ML & Robyn: I understand and support your decision! You are two of the finest women that I can call my friends. You have done so much for so many people and cats! I know that this was a hard decision, but I believe it was the right one. Thank you for everything that you have done! The Cat Blogosphere will continue as a place for cat news and cat fun….and when necessary cat activism! LOVE TO YOU BOTH!
March 19th, 2008 at 8:38 am
What everyone else said and then some! Mom ML and Mom Robyn, you guys are amazing - but we totally understand how time consuming and difficult volunteering and fund raising can be. Cheers to you both for doing it so long and so well!
March 19th, 2008 at 10:09 am
Mom Robyn and Mom ML, we reeely DO appreciate yore efferts on behalf ov needful poodins but we understand how much of a headache managing this can be. We’re sorry to see the Cafepress stuff go cuz Momma likes the stuff she got. Now she needs to do sum more shopping afore the store closes!
March 19th, 2008 at 10:23 am
Purrs of support fur you bof. It takes strength to do all you’ve done, an efun more to know when to back off. But… but… not the store! Mew!
March 19th, 2008 at 11:17 am
Thank you for all you’ve done. We don’t want to see the store disappear either, though we sure do understand about the stuff you said. Our Lady’s gonna e-mail you.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:27 am
Robyn & ML, we know what a difficult decision this must have been for you. But all the good you’ve done will live on forever, and it would be impossible to thank you enough!
We think this isn’t going to be an end, but simply a change. With all the cat blogger loving hearts and fine minds out there, I bet someone comes up with a way to keep the fundraising efforts going so that just one or two people don’t have to carry the entire load. We’ll be doing some thinking ….

Thanks for all your time and efforts! As Daisy said, I don’t feel like we have told you all enough how appreciative we are for all you do. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Mom Robyn and ML
We all thank you for everything you both have done with the fund raising for the kitties in need. YOU have done an outstanding job. We are all proud of you for everything you have accomplished. THANK YOU!!
March 19th, 2008 at 12:40 pm
We only came across the Cat Blogsphere recently and we’ve been amazed at what all goes on here. It’s no wonder it’s a full time job for 2 humans. You’ve evidently done a wonderful job helping other kitties, but it is a huge responsibility and we can understand your need to let go of the fundraising. You can only help so many and there are more in need than ever right now. Sadly, many times we have to make hard financial decisions since no one group can help them all.
Congratulations on a job well done.
March 19th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Rhiannon, please do not feel like this is your fault! Mom Robyn and MommyML, we so appreciate everything that you have done, for the CB and especially us. you have all literally saved our home and were the reason that mommy could get to Buffalo for the jobbie innerview and get the jobbie she has now. We can never thank you all enough.

Mom Robyn & Mom ML: You both mean so much to me and my feline family, and have done so much to help us - and so many here!
I hope that the store can stay open - you’ve got some great resources here - delegate some of the tasks!
I totally understand about the fund-raising, and just want to say THANK YOU for all you’ve done!

Sweet Cat Mommies, we so understand your decision to stop the fundraising at the CB. 40+ hours a week is a LOT, and that time all goes off from the quality time with your own kitties, family and friends.
We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping so many and learning us these things!! Also lots of thanks to you and all the fabulous repurrters for keeping us informed with the Daily Noos and making the CB the greatest, kindest, warmest cat group of the of the world!!

Everyone has said what we wanted to say! Your decision must have been very hard to make. Mom has felt bad that we did not have more green papers to help everyone who needs help but has done what we can afford. We are very sorry that some have felt slighted.
Thank you so much for all you have done! You have made us feel welcome and part of a big family even when we are not able to post or comment as often as we wish we could.
Thank you to the one(s) willing to take over.
