UPDATE on LA Hoarders Cats! Got an email from Robin (working with Barbara in LA) who said:

  • Only two people showed to help clean up.
  • Seven cats have been placed, but there are more than 50 - they desperately need temporary housing for the cats (boarding is $13 per day).
  • Someone called animal control but they couldn’t do anything, they didn’t have jurisdiction
  • The only cat that had medical attention is little "No-Nose", the guy in the photo who lost his nose. He has a treatable nose fungi, is in isolation at the vet for a cancer screening. He just got adopted!
  • The money we contributed will probably go to board the remaining cats and medical care.
  • Got Barbara’s Paypal info today and transferred a small amount to make sure it was correct. Am waiting for her verification to transfer the balance.
  • UPDATE: We raised a total of $580! (anyone else who wants to help can).
  • We had some very generous donations and then a flurry of small donations. What people don’t realize is those small donations –$2 and up — really add up. We all wish we could afford to give huge donations, but not all of us are able. And the spirit of giving and the power of the prayers, never ever underestimate that!

Again, thank you to everyone who donated money and everyone who prayed. Even though we couldn’t be there to help, we will make a difference for those poor cats and dogs…ML

KAT NEEDS OURS HELP! Emma’s Kat wrote: Calling all kitties: Kat needs your help!! As I typed my post for the weekend, I couldn’t help but wonder….Where the heck did I come up with "Kat’s Korner"?!? It just doesn’t make sense to me anymore, so I figured, who better to ask for help, than the kitties in the blogosphere! I need a new title for my weekend post. Something like "Kat’s Weekend Spot", maybe? Come up with a title for Kat’s weekend post and the one I think fits the best, will be the new title!
