This is one of those days when just about everyone remembers exactly what they were doing, where they were, etc., when this was unfolding. Terrible, terrible day.
There’s a man who died that day who isn’t often mentioned much: John Clark. He had been an FBI agent and worked on counter-terrorism for years and years, but the political atmosphere of the time didn’t allow his thoughts and findings to be made known to very many people. He finally went to work for the Port Authority in the WTC — fatefully. You can read about him here:
